Students, faculty, staff and honored guests officially marked the opening of the all-female, 276-bed residence hall with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony, the unveiling of its new name, Roers Hall (pronounced Roars), and tours of the facility. Roers Hall is just steps east of Welder library tucked between two other residence halls, Greg Butler Hall and Hillside Hall, forming a neatly nestled quad that fosters more interaction among students.
On Tuesday, July 27th, more than 50 people joined Breaking Ground and our partners at the African American Planning Commission, Inc. (AAPCI) for a ribbon cutting and open house celebrating the completion of Edwin's Place, our newest supportive and affordable residence in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

The 59th Medical Wing's new Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center officially opened with a ribbon cutting today, June 7, on Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The 59th MDW identified Master Sgt. Karrin Hatcher as it's first official patient to be seen in the $418 million, 682,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. Wilford Hall is the U.S. Air Force's flagship medical facility for outpatient care. The building features four wings, on four floors, housing more than 25 outpatient clinic and clinical services.
The City of Cedar Rapids will officially open Hughes Park, 2100 Wilson Avenue SW, on Friday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting event. The park historically preserves an outdoor environmental space previously owned by the Hughes family. It features nature-themed play equipment, including log balance beams and stepping pads created by trees lost in the Derecho. Other features include a naturalized teaching area and birding area with educational signs on how to identify birds, how birds use trees, and common birds of Iowa. The park includes two half-court basketball courts with drainage that allows for the conversion of the courts to an outdoor ice rink in the winter. Typical park amenities are also available including a rentable pavilion, an ADA-compliant restroom, and an open field with flexibility for multiple sports. A loop of hard-surfaced and grass-mowed trail provides access to the teaching area, birding area, and play equipment. An acre of pollinator habitat will be added with grass trails mowed around it.
Nearly 100 people were on hand for the official ribbon cutting ceremony that was held on Wednesday to tour the brand new, state-of-the-art student housing community located just steps from the Hudson Valley Community College campus.
The Recovery Home is a four-unit transitional and supportive housing complex. It will house up to 20 women at a time for at least four months. It will provide the extended care the women need to successfully transition from the Jail to Work program back into their community. 2ff7e9595c
